Comedian Kapil Sharma’s Canada-based restaurant “Kap’s Café” has once again been targeted in a shooting incident. This marks the second such attack within a month, and this time, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility, warning of more violence if people continue to associate with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan.
Second Attack in Less Than a Month
On the night of August 2025’s first week, unidentified gunmen opened fire at Kapil Sharma’s restaurant in Surrey, Canada. According to local police, around 9–10 rounds were fired, with at least six bullets hitting the café’s windows and walls. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
This attack comes just weeks after a similar shooting incident in July 2025, when the café had barely opened to the public. At that time, Canada-based gangster Harjit Singh Laddi, linked to the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), had claimed responsibility.
Bishnoi Gang’s Open Threat
Following the latest incident, a man identifying himself as Goldy Dhillon, an alleged member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, posted on social media claiming responsibility for the attack. He issued a chilling warning:
“Next action will be in Mumbai. Whoever works with Salman Khan will not be spared.”
Another gang member, Harry Boxer, released an audio clip explaining the reason behind targeting Kapil Sharma. According to him, the comedian invited Salman Khan to the opening of his Netflix show The Great Indian Kapil Show, which allegedly angered the Bishnoi gang.
The gang’s threat was explicit: “Whether it’s a big star, a small actor, or a director — if they work with Salman Khan, they will face an AK-47 without warning.”

The Salman Khan Connection
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has a long-standing hostility towards Salman Khan due to the 1998 blackbuck hunting case, in which Khan was accused of killing a blackbuck — an animal considered sacred by the Bishnoi community.
Since then, the gang has repeatedly issued threats to Salman Khan, and in 2023, Mumbai police had foiled an alleged plan to attack him.
Kapil Sharma’s decision to collaborate with Salman Khan — who has often appeared as a guest and even co-produced some of Kapil’s shows — is reportedly the main reason behind the café attacks.
Security Concerns in Bollywood
Following the threats, Mumbai Police has started reviewing Kapil Sharma’s security. Plainclothes police officers have already been stationed near his shooting locations.
This incident raises serious concerns about celebrity safety, the influence of organized crime on the entertainment industry, and the dangers of international gang networks targeting Indian stars abroad.
Police Investigation
Surrey Police, along with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), is investigating the shooting. CCTV footage is being analyzed, and forensic teams have recovered bullet shells from the scene. Meanwhile, Indian authorities are in contact with Canadian law enforcement to monitor developments.
Public Reaction
Fans of Kapil Sharma have flooded social media with messages of concern, urging him to stay safe. Several Bollywood celebrities have condemned the attack and expressed solidarity with the comedian.
Conclusion
The repeated attacks on Kapil Sharma’s café underline a disturbing reality — Bollywood celebrities are not only at risk in India but also abroad.
With gang rivalry, old grudges, and public feuds spilling into real-world violence, the need for stronger security measures and international law enforcement cooperation has never been greater.
